Tascombank, one of many oldest business banks in Ukraine, is launching a Stellar-based pilot for Ukraine’s nationwide fiat forex, the hryvnia.
The Stellar Growth Basis (SDF) introduced on Dec. 14 a non-public digital hryvnia pilot launched by Tascombank and fintech firm Bitt.
The digital hryvnia pilot is being applied below the supervision of the Nationwide Financial institution of Ukraine and is supported by the Ministry of Digital Transformation (MDT).
Oleksandr Bornyakov, deputy minister of the MDT, stated that the pilot venture will present a “technological foundation for the issuance of digital cash” and is the “subsequent key step to advance innovation of fee and monetary infrastructure in Ukraine.”
SDF CEO Denelle Dixon informed Cointelegraph that the pilot work has already kicked off, with the primary take a look at together with programmable payroll for public staff at Diia, a public IT options enterprise owned and supported by the MDT of Ukraine.

The Ukrainian authorities has been actively exploring Stellar for digital forex implementations. In January 2021, the MDT first partnered with the SDFtodevelop a digital asset and infrastructure strategyfor a central financial institution digital forex.
