Top Trump watchdog joins crypto firm, continuing industry trend of poaching regulators

Kathy Kraninger, former director of the Shopper Monetary Safety Bureau instructed Reuters Thursday that she is going to be part of cryptocurrency startup Solidus Labs as an official overseeing regulatory issues.

Solidus is a compliance advisory agency that helps digital-asset corporations detect and report market manipulation in digital property to related authorities. It was based in 2017 by former Wall Road veterans, and it’s CEO, Asaf Meir was most lately employed at Goldman Sachs.

Kraninger is the most recent Trump official to hitch a cryptocurrency firm. Former Appearing Comptroller of the Foreign money Brian Brooks lately grew to become the CEO of the U.S. affiliate of Binance, whereas former Securities and Trade Fee Chairman Jay Clayton joined an advisory council at One River Digital Asset Administration in Might.
