πŸ€” What’s Leveraged Buying and selling? πŸ€”

It’s buying and selling with extra money than you will have. To broaden on {that a} bit extra, it’s getting into positions in the marketplace which can be many multiples of what you’re placing down as collateral.

This collateral is extra generally referred to as your “margin” and it’s often measured as a share of the quantity that you would be able to commerce with. Good points and losses are magnified by stated issue.

πŸ“‰ Historical past of Futures πŸ“‰

They had been initially used centuries in the past as a way for farmers to hedge the chance out of foreward costs for commodities. They might promote their product into the long run so as to safe a worth for it when it got here to market.

Futures markets ultimately rolled out to the forex markets within the early Nineteen Seventies, rate of interest markets in 1975 and inventory indexes within the Eighties. Finally, by the 2000’s you had futures devices on single shares as effectively.

These did make their approach into the retail markets by means of the quite a few on-line brokerage accounts provided to US merchants.

β‚Ώ Futures in Bitcoin β‚Ώ

One of many first exchanges to supply Leveraged Bitcoin buying and selling by means of futures was of BitMEX. Registered within the Seychelles and run out of Hong Kong, this was one of many predominant Bitcoin futures exchanges for a variety of years.

They gave Bitcoin merchants the chance to commerce their perpetual futures devices of as much as 100 occasions.

πŸ–₯ Present Form of Market πŸ–₯

There may be much more compeition from leveraged exchanges now. One thing else additionally occurred again in 2017. The CME and CBOE each launched their very own regulated and alternate listed Bitcoin futures. Demand for these merchandise has steadily been growing over the previous 3 years.

This was primarily pushed by a surge in institutional curiosity in Bitcoin futures. A lot in order that different suppliers like Bakkt additionally listed their very own bodily settled Bitcoin futures

πŸ’Έ How Exchnages Make Cash πŸ’Έ

An alternate is only a centralised buying and selling engine that matches patrons and sellers of futures contracts. They are going to cost fee on all the trades that they match.

Other than facilitating the alternate, in addition they ensure that the buying and selling pool is saved solvent. They need to ensure that within the occasion of utmost market strikes, these which can be near depleting their margin could have their place closed. That is to guard what is named “chapter” within the place.

With the intention to do that, the exchanges will function a liquidation engine. These are designed to execute trades and de-risk a place. Each time that they do that they’ll earn fee on the trades which can be met and executions which can be carried out.

In addition they function what is named an “insurance coverage pool”. These are funded by dealer’s margin and are used so as to scale back threat to the buying and selling pool and forestall socialised losses.

βœ… Utilizing Leveraged Responsibly βœ…

You need to contemplate when you even need to do it. Have you ever traded within the spot market earlier than and have you ever developed a buying and selling technique? This could possibly be a elementary one primarily based on worth motion or a extra technical one that’s formed by the charts. Do you will have a cash administration technique?

This must be seen as a very separate part out of your Hodl portfolio. It must also be funds that you must comfortably be capable to lose with out breaking the financial institution. You need to then determine on what alternate you need to commerce on

  1. Late suggestion but just something I'd like to see. A video on the best stablecoins? I think with a future bull run a lot of people will be looking to convert into stablecoins to keep their gains, but I know USDT is controversial as it is.

  2. Suggestion:

    User Friendliness Rating/Update:

How user friendly is a coin/project?

You do lots of coin review videos, and those are great but sometime I wonder if the coin itself has become more user friendly, especially some of the older crypto like XMR and LTC, I wonder if its still tricky to send Monero to other users, how is the wallet experience if I was a complete beginner and how does the user experience compare to other competitive crypto projects? Have these coins become more user friendly or worse because of more additions like Defi and Smart contracts making it even more complex. XMR is an old crpyto and the wallet functionality was poor, do they have a mobile app yet? And how easy is it to setup/use?

I want to know if the coin or project doesn't need any more major user friendly updates and is already peak user friendlyness, personally I think Nano is getting close but still needs work to be even more easy to use. What would you recommend to make coins such as Nano or even BTC more easy to use? I often wonder how my grandma would use crypto in the future, would we still be using crypro wallet addresses and private keys? Solutions like ETHSIGNER for password loss prevention and also crypto domains for easy address sending come to mind, but are those solution practical for every project?

Personally, I would love to know about the lighting network, specifically how their wallets compare to normal BTC wallets, are they easier to use? Or are lightning network wallets still a huge pain in the ass to get setup and running.

This would be a very marketable subject and one that I would love to share to people who dont know anything really about crypto and just want to get started, people who are curious but are scared because it looks to complex!

  3. Suggestion – can we have all or one of the following:
    * a video of top 5 over hyped crypto projects
    * a video of top 5 potential groundbreaking crypto projects for the next 5 years.

And a video highlighting a potential strategy if government regulations makes majority of crypto illegal? Perhaps using certain blockchains as a hedge against this?

  4. Boy, you you like saying "Plethora", don't you?

You have huuuge library of quality videos on crypto!

I just browsed though and now I have few suggestions:

Make a video on "What is Blockchain" (for new people in the space).

What about video on wrapped BTC on ETH?
I'm not sure, if there's tainted BTC (used on dark web), can it be tracked, how to be sure not to get some? Cheers!

  5. Great Video as always!
I think a great addition to the channel, would maybe be a monthly live stream. Where you talk about that months possible (gains and losses) , upcoming and possibly going under projects, that just haven't met the mark. ( when I say (gains and losses) I don't mean personal, just a market sense. What's a good idea, bad idea sort of thing? Current news about the crypto world, from bad news to good news. Teams, and projects, and what caused such a thing to happen. Hacks, and breaches, and what have you, that sort of thing. All current, and relative news to the crypto world. Maybe trying to get hands on interviews, statements from some of the said people. Something people can see first hand, a connection of sorts.
More in-depth things for beginners, advanced, and professionals in the field. (The content you provide for that already is above and beyond though, I feel I should add). Talking about things like the reality of people being at risk of losing their own crypto funds via not knowing enough information, even simple things like not checking the send/return address.

The subtle ways, and the extreme ways people can be caught out, buying, and trading.
Knowing when to possibly sell an asset off at a loss/ against not selling it off and just keep hodling it. (in regard to crypto)
Ultimately I think the best thing for your channel, is keep on doing what you're doing! You are becoming more and more noticed, and people appreciate what you do tenfold!

  6. Guy – The main reason i started watching your videos was your token overviews. Any time i want to check out a new cryptocurrency i always come to your channel first. The in depth research and analysis you provide is always the best place to start. I also love it when you provide follow up/update videos on projects you previously reviewed. In my opinion that is your best work. With that being said, i would love to see more reviews on not just the tokens but the overall protocols their dapps as well, particularly in the Defi space. some interesting ones to look at would be aave, curve, balancer, gnosis, instadapp etc.
The yield farming video you made the other day was a great example. Regardless of what you decide just wanna say thanks for all the work you put in – you do your research and it shows. Keep the great content coming, cheers

  7. Idea: How do you make your videos? The leg work the articles you read. "How the Sauce is made" so to speak kind of a behind the scenes video. This would be fresh and maybe we'd get to see a more personal view on who Guy is and his team. Keep up the great work! ❀️

  8. Congratulations on 50k subs. Well deserved. πŸ‘ Plenty of quality information – not just readings news articles and 5 minutes on chart patterns like most channels. Good channel for newbies and others that have been in space for years. Keep doing what you're doing.

  9. Great videos I wouldn't change a thing other than stick to a regular format so there is continuity in your spotlight project videos. For instance some of your video describe the projects ICO's and other you mention but don't describe what price they were offered at.
As far as a suggestion how about another defi project video on DMM/DMG.
    Again great videos. THX

  10. Love your videos and love your production value, but I have a suggestion (sorry I'm an audio engineer so I have to mention this)… Try using a de-esser… The S's, C's, T's, etc. are just a bit harsh and keep me from turning up the volume. Maybe also a little compression as well. It will give you much smoother and professional sounding audio.

  11. Suggestion: Nowadays there are many signal vip groups and video courses! Some very expensive and others very cheap. I think it would be nice if you could make some content on that fact. E.g. Which YouTuber or company offers the best signals and educational courses? For example, the bearable offers a course and buy signal for 12,99 dollar whereas diy investing his vip course will cost you 1000 dollar a year! I think this must be researched since there is no content on this subject at all:)

  12. Guy what would interest me would be about ADA vs Ethereum, content being could both make it in this market or is one going to be the Winner and the other being turned into a shit coin? Thus my question really is there enough business for specialized DeFi or are they all competing for the exact same business? No I don’t understand what exactly each coins objective is, same with Tezos, am I being stupid for owning and staking competing coins? I have only been screwing around with this for 3 weeks! Lol you have been my real guide, yes I know you are not a β€œFinancial Planner” nor will I ever hold you responsible, but you are the most Articulate individual on this YouTube channel that I can relate to and again my much appreciated thanks Mark the old man

  13. Another video I would like to see to get some advice on is…what kind of cold/hardware wallet gives me the highest level of privacy in term that no one ever can find out how much do I own or how much I am sending. I would be really curious how to achieve this. I am pretty concerned about privacy when it comes to my cryptos in general. I heard for example that when using the Ledger Live my data on how much I own or how much I am sending is not necessarily private and could leak out to 3rd parties. Would be nice to get some advice on how to achieve this. You could include also which crypto currencies should I use if privacy is my top priority. So in recap – how to store my crypto in a way that is super secure and super private and as well how to make transactions in a way that is super private and in general how to achieve the highest level of privacy when using my cryptos in general… Big fan. I really hope I win ,thanks a lot =)
